Here are some pics of the Camp Pendleton fire on 13 Oct (in Juliet area).
I just happened to be going to Mainside, with my camera, to get a piece for it. I notice the smoke plume, and went to see what was going on. I positioned myself in various places to get some pics, without being in the way of the MP's and Fire rescue. The MP's finally started evacuating the area, so I had to leave.

This is a view from Mission Ave (off base), you are looking at the Oceanside/Camp Pendleton border. The fire had spread off base.
Here is the Mainside shopping center, there is some housing in the background, there is even more housing (that was very close to the fire, down the valley to the right).
They started evacuating the horses from the stables.
I thought this would be an interesting photo.
You can see the fire helo dropping water. The building to the right is the daycare. The officers houses are back behind all that smoke.
